The Heart and Soul Behind TaxPlanIQ

Meet Jackie Meyer. She’s the Founder and CEO of Meyer Tax Consulting—a boutique CPA firm, the Concierge Accountant Coaching Program, and TaxPlanIQ. Part of what she does is teach accountants how to increase their revenue while decreasing their time involved, but it wasn’t always that way. 

“When I had my first child, I was doing probably four people’s full-time jobs running my Meyer’s Tax Consulting firm, and I almost lost it. I realized I couldn’t be a workaholic anymore, and I was not going to let it ruin my health.”

Jackie learned best practices the hard way–through experience as she built her business, and she used that knowledge to build a better firm.

“I converted my practice to value pricing around tax strategies, and what that allowed me to do is actually triple my income while equally decreasing the number of clients I had in the practice.”

As she grew her practice and unlocked the keys to running an accounting firm that truly demonstrated her value, it was apparent that the tax planning software options on the market simply fell short in this category. So, she set out to build the ideal platform that could serve accountants, visualize savings, and articulate the value that accountants bring to the table for their clients.

“I wanted to make accountants’ lives better. I host a Facebook group that has about 5,000 accountants on it called Accounting Firm Influencers, and I see people suffering every day.” 

Jackie reflected on what she learned running her consulting business and on the things that she knew would help improve the accounting industry and formulated a plan.

“God blessed me with the quirky passion of tax planning, and I totally own it now. I see how everything came together. And tax planning is so fun because you could be a detective, and you could figure out all of these problems and issues with people’s tax returns and then save them a lot of money.”

She combined her experience, insights, and passion into one incredibly useful platform: TaxPlanIQ.

“Life doesn’t have to be hard on you. Tax season can run more efficiently and smoothly, and that’s what TaxPlanIQ is made for.”

More than anything, though, Jackie wants to help change the overall environment of the accounting industry.

“I want our industry to change. I want to make it better. I can’t imagine a better thing to do than support accountants in that endeavor.”
